Lewis County Fire District 6 staff and recruit graduates attended a firefighter recruit graduation at the district’s Jackson Highway station on Nov. 22. Graduates and their families were welcomed into the district upon completion of their training. Board Chair Colin Mason presented a service award to Kevin Curfman, who retired as a volunteer firefighter with the district. Curfman retired from Chehalis Fire Department as a fire captain and volunteered with Lewis County Fire District 6. “While with Lewis County Fire District 6, Curfman was a dedicated volunteer who served the district and the community in many areas,” said the district. Curfman retired as a volunteer firefighter after 35 years of service. From left are Curfman, Board Chair Colin Mason, Fire Chief Ken Cardinale and Commissioner Greg Greene.
