Residents of the Centralia, Onalaska and Boistfort school districts should expect a ballot in the mail for upcoming school levy votes.
The Lewis County Auditor’s Office Elections Department announced Friday that it would mail 20,615 ballots out for the county’s Feb. 10 special election to active voters in the three school districts next week on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
The office already mailed 251 military and overseas ballots on Jan. 9.
According to the news release from the county, ballots should begin arriving in active voters mailboxes more than a week from now, starting on Monday, Jan. 26.
Ballots may take between seven and 10 days for delivery. Registered voters within the three school districts with issues on the ballot may request a replacement ballot if they do not receive their ballot by mail by Friday, Jan 30.
To print out a replacement ballot through the state website, visit www.votewa.gov where voters can log in and select “Your Ballots and Voting Materials.” To call the county office and request a replacement ballot, dial 360-740-1278. To visit the office in person, go to the Lewis County Courthouse during the auditor’s office hours between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Individuals who have moved residences may update their address on their voter registration by calling the county office or going online to the state website at www.votewa.gov.
Ballots will go to new addresses if there is a forwarding order in place with the U.S. Postal Service but may take longer to arrive than the standard seven to 10 days.
