A Level 3 sex offender has registered to live in the 400 block of Shanklin Road in Onalaska, according to a news release from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Phillip Earl McCree, 47, is not wanted by law enforcement at this time, but his conviction of a sex offense requires registration with the sheriff’s office.
“Further, their previous history places them in a classification level that reflects the potential to re-offend,” the release states.
McCree pleaded guilty to third-degree rape of a child in Lewis County Superior Court in 1999. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison and released on Jan. 20, 2002.
“At the time of his release he was on supervision with the Department of Corrections,” the release states. “Because of his failing to participate in sexual deviancy treatment and other conditions of his supervision, he was again sentenced to 12 months in prison.”
McCree was released on March 6, 2005.
In 2022, McCree was convicted of failing to register through Lewis County Superior Court.
