In a letter that was published in The Chronicle on June 27, I asked Greg Rohr, the chair of the Lewis County Republican Party, to name the winner of the 2020 presidential election.
Despite his own, previously published, extensive claim to a moral high ground, Rohr did not respond to this request.
Perhaps Rohr would fare better with the following questions, all of which are of historical importance:
• For whom is the state of Washington named ?
• For whom is Jefferson City, Missouri, named?
• For whom is Lincoln, Nebraska, named?
• Who is buried in Grant's Tomb?
With reference to the answers to the above questions, who won the presidential elections in 1788 and 1792, in 1800 and 1804, in 1860 and 1864, and in 1868 and 1872?
I have no doubt that Rohr could answer these questions correctly without difficulty or reluctance of any kind.
So why can't you answer for 2020, Mr. Rohr, and what are you so scared of?
