Ally Pickard has a strong vision for the future of our citizen-owned Port of Centralia.
With more than 15 years of experience in financial management, budgeting, grant administration and strategic planning, she is the perfect candidate to replace her opponent at the port’s table.
Currently working as a grant and contract analyst, Pickard’s qualifications far exceed those of the current commissioner she seeks to replace.
Ally Pickard is dedicated to rebuilding the port’s reputation and earning people’s trust by promoting transparency, lessening reliance on taxpayer funding and enhancing collaboration with stakeholders. She understands the distinct roles of the port commissioner and the executive director and is committed to improving that relationship by clearly defining boundaries between the two positions.
Her opponent has neglected this issue for far too long, leading to significant discord and a lack of public trust in the port. Pickard aims to rebuild that trust through transparent governance, enhanced financial accountability, setting long term strategic goals and increasing public participation. This includes holding meetings at accessible times and creating a volunteer Citizens Advisory Committee.
Under her opponent’s so-called leadership, the port seems to lack clear long-term plans or goals. Picard is determined to change that. Ally Pickard is actively involved in regional committees and has contributed to shaping state-level policies on crisis response and youth homelessness. As a dedicated volunteer and passionate advocate for her community, Ally brings a unique and valuable perspective.
Pickard is focused on advancing the port’s progress while prioritizing the needs of the citizens in every decision. Unlike her opponent, she is dedicated to serving you — the taxpaying citizen-owners of the port.
Ally Pickard thinks citizens are paying too much in taxes and believes the port can achieve self-sufficiency. With the right strategic planning, Pickard believes the port can ease that tax burden on the community.
Join me in making the right choice for our port on Nov. 4: Vote Ally Pickard for Port of Centralia Commissioner District 2.
