Letter to the editor: Stranger’s kindness at checkout appreciated

Posted

I was in the Chehalis Safeway on Friday, Jan. 23, doing my grocery shopping.

When I reached the checkout counter, I put my credit card in and it refused it, so I was told to try it again.

Still rejected.

Meanwhile, the gentleman behind me put $120 on the counter and paid for my groceries.

I was pretty shook up and didn’t get to thank him, so whoever you are, thank you!

Only in a small town in Lewis County would this happen.
