Letter to the editor: Our city deserves a leader like Kate McDougall

Posted

Please join me in re-electing Chehalis City Mayor Pro Tem Kate McDougall to the Chehalis City Council Position 1 At-Large seat.

Kate has demonstrated over the past four years her commitment and dedication to Chehalis. She is always thoroughly prepared, knows the issues and listens to all points of view. She is very active in the community serving on numerous boards and commissions, including the city’s budget and voucher committee, vice chair of the Lewis County Public Health and Social Services Advisory Board, Lewis County Historical Museum Board, 911 Dispatch Committee, Board of Trustees for Volunteer Firefighters, Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Planning Board and Experience Chehalis.

The extent of her involvement is far greater than those listed activities. If there is a task to be done or a volunteer needed, she is the first one to raise her hand to participate. Our city deserves a leader like Kate.

I have seen firsthand how hard working and devoted she is to our city and to making it a wonderful place to live, work and play. As the former City of Chehalis director of community services for 15 years, I know firsthand the kind of leadership we need from our city council.

I encourage you to join me in voting to re-elect Kate McDougall to a second term on the Chehalis City Council as she is the kind of leader we need.
