Letter to the editor: National Women’s Day plans at college are very concerning

Posted

The March 2 commentary by Lewis County Commissioner Sean Swope about Centralia College having a transgender “woman” represent National Women’s Day is very concerning.

I went to Centralia College’s website and found this statement: “Whatever you think you can do, you can do it.”

Apparently!

Are they no longer teaching biology at the college? There are only two genders and it’s dependent on what x and y chromosomes you have. No matter what you do to your body or what hormones you throw at it, you cannot change your chromosomes.

I urge everyone who agrees with Mr. Swope’s letter to cut it out and send it to the president of the college. The only way we can get our opinion heard is to get it out there. We are allowing the opposite opinions to take precedence by saying nothing.

Voice your opinion that National Women’s Day should be represented by a biological woman, not a wannabe.
