Hard working, determined, resilient, energetic, loyal, fearless.
These are words to describe Mathew McKnight.
I have known Matt since 1998. He was a student in middle school. In both high school and middle school, he always worked hard to maintain a high GPA and excel in sports (wrestling and football).
What he lacked in physical stature, he made up for in dogged determination. He was 5-foot-7 but played like he was 6-foot-7.
As a wrestler, he was a cyclone. He never was out of a match and placed in multiple tournaments, including a state medal.
He participated in school activities including FFA and various community events such as Walk-n-Knock.
Early on in his life, he served his community.
I renewed my acquaintance with Matt in his adult years. I was a business owner in Chehalis. He was a diligent public servant and helped me when we had a break-in. He was also readily available when we had security concerns or issues.
He is approachable and accessible. He is not afraid to make a stand and voice concerns.
Matt McKnight is a man of character and integrity. He does what he says he will do and will do the right thing even if no one is watching. He is loyal to his family, his career, and to the community in which he serves.
I have lived in Lewis County since 1990. I am an educator who has dedicated my life to educating and inspiring young people. It is vital that we have people that exemplify good character and integrity for our youth.
Matt McKnight is the man for the job. He will be an exceptional leader for Lewis County.
I highly endorse and support him as a candidate for Lewis County sheriff.
