Endless repetition of catch phrases exposes a hard sell. Obvious truths do not require constant hammering into our heads. However, statements of another nature require nursing — 24/7. An understanding of this concept explains what our schools, churches and talk radio programs are all about.
Simple recitation and repetition needs jazzing up: “1+1=2, 1+1=2.” Boring! Salt it with emotion. Make us suspect that this is privileged information meant only for those with a brain in their heads and God in their hearts.
Repetition is a tool that can make the most absurd statement in the world accepted as stark reality.
KELA has dropped the ball in this regard. “Let’s Talk About It” appears to have banned the coin of the realm. Gasping for its breath beyond a June moon: a single word that has been enormously successful in embarrassing half our population, lies dormant. I warn you, that if the use of this word, “lunatics,” is not reestablished in its proper place, we are certain to quickly forget how stupid, dangerous and vile our lefty neighbors are.
Surely KELA must be familiar with the attention span of our loyal homegrown conservatives? For example, Donald J. Trump, the greatest role model our children could ever have, thinks and speaks like the common man. In plain terms, he is unable to sustain a train of thought in a single sentence. “I’m sorry about your son, nice hat!”
Saturate us with foolishness. Never let up. A single pause may well mean disaster. God save us from independent consciousness and curiosity. We need guidance with every single step in our lives.
Consider my own personal experience: A 30-second lapse between the mentioning of “open borders” resulted in me falling into the trap. My idle seconds were employed in researching the subject. Who are these vicious lefty radicals that are spewing this garbage?
I could only find Republicans collecting the trash (from God knows where) and dumping it on the street. I almost wasted a whole day being defeated in a futile search before I struck gold: I found a lone, high standing radical lunatic socialist — who, while not using the exact term, earned clarifying “click bait” headlines for his efforts. Brace yourselves. Here it is verbatim:
“What we need is comprehensive immigration reform. If you don’t have any borders, you don’t have a nation. Trump did a better job. I don’t like Trump, but we should have a secure border. It ain’t that hard to do.” — Bernie Sanders.
Typical listener’s comprehension: “Did he say he doesn’t like Trump?”
“Lock her Up” Hillary pushed Bernie out of the way, seeking presidential immunity for herself. And despite her inability to draw a crowd any larger than would fill a phone booth, she was judged by the party to be Bernie’s superior.
The results speak for themselves.
And now it seems fitting for me to sign out with a phrase that Walter Cronkite repeated over a period of 19 years:
“And that’s the way it is!”
