Letter to the editor: Investments in clean energy will continue unless Climate Commitment Act is repealed

Posted

It is nice to see the Centralia and Chehalis school districts receive grant money for their Renewable Energy Vehicle and Infrastructure Technician (REVIT) training program.

The Climate Commitment Act will provide funding for many more similar benefits:

• Road improvement projects that allow kids to walk or bike safely to school

• Free transit, rail and ferries for youth

• School heating efficiency project

• Fish passage projects

• Electric ferries

• Heat pump water heaters

• Solar panels

• Transit upgrades

• Electric school buses

Those investments will save us money in the long run and help protect our children’s future. Those investments will continue as long as we vote no on the initiative that repeals the Climate Commitment Act (I-2117).
