I’m Anthony Hemstad and I am running for Olympia Port commissioner, Position 3. If you live anywhere in Thurston County, you are in the port district. Port districts focus on economic development.
I’m the only candidate for this position that has actually worked in economic development. I’ve helped bring in major investments to this region and increased exports, helping create thousands of family wage jobs.
Campaigns should be about bringing people together. Almost every group that has looked at this race is endorsing Hemstad for Port. This includes labor unions, business groups and environmental organizations along with every Thurston County mayor (including Yelm, Rainier, Tenino and Bucoda), prominent Democrats and Republicans, and every current port commissioner (along with the Port Commission candidates that ran against them in the last two elections).
These are important positions, and I encourage you to research the candidates and vote by Nov. 4 for Anthony Hemstad for Position 3 and Bob Iyall for Position 2.
