In November 2024, the majority of U.S. voters elected Donald Trump as president of the United States, making him chief executive of the U.S. government and commander-in-chief of the United States military.
Although many Democrat voters don't like this outcome, it is reality. Remember, more than half of the voters voted for President Trump.
On Nov. 6, 2025, I wrote a letter to the editor in which I challenged the progressive letter writers to "straighten me out and explain to me what you stand for besides hate for President Trump and MAGA voters and envy of the rich."
A number of letters were subsequently offered.
I counted seven letters in which letter writers expressed their Democrat or liberal beliefs. This amounted to about 84 column inches of comments.
About 35% of the comments expressed negative feelings toward the rich and the need to increase taxes on the rich.
About 26% of the comments expressed a loathing of President Trump or a strong disagreement with actions President Trump is taking.
About 28% of the comments expressed dislike or loathing of MAGA voters, some comments including untrue and ugly accusations against us MAGA voters. These accusations were not only untrue, but were probably the commenters projecting their own disgusting low life values.
About 11% of the comments expressed support for due process or "the American Way."
So the responding progressive letter writers claimed they stand for hate or envy of "the rich who do not pay their fair share of taxes"; hate or strong disagreement with President Trump and his actions; dislike or loathing of MAGA voters; and a small amount of support for good moral or ethical values.
I am in favor of good moral and ethical values.
Now for what I stand for;
I believe in the existence of God the Creator, and I believe that we should promote the Judeo-Christian values that our country was founded upon. This does not include any government-sponsored church.
I believe that our government should support all human life and the human family.
I do not loathe or hate liberals or left-wing Democrats. I just disagree with them on many matters. I do not call people that I disagree with nasty names or assign them offensive labels or advocate violence against them.
I believe in supporting and following the U.S. Constitution.
I believe the government should become much smaller than it is.
I believe that the federal government should get out of the welfare and the insurance business and let volunteer charities take care of the needy. People need to support themselves if they can. Welfare using government-forced taxation is not charity.
I am certain that the federal government must begin to operate within a balanced budget, and I have no doubts that if we continue multi-trillion-dollar deficits we will see serious and untenable inflation.
We must allow people to get rich if they can, in order to have progress. I want capitalism and private property rather than socialism.
I observe that Donald Trump is the world's best negotiator, and I support his every effort.
