Letter to the editor: How is America great now?

Posted

I mean, some people thought that this administration was going to help bring down costs for average Americans. Well, that was quite a pipe dream.

I just did my taxes, and dang it was painful. I am middle class, closer to retirement than starting my career, but certainly far from living in the Epstein Class. My income tax rate is crazy high compared to the ultra rich.

People like me are paying for AI, data centers, high energy prices, high grocery prices, ICE, golfing trips and luxury airplanes for illicit affairs and the total grifting of this United States. This president and his family are making money hand over fist from his presidency, and we are just letting it happen.

Is this how America is being made great?

How is it fair that someone at the end of a career pays more taxes than any millionaire or billionaire by percentage? I don’t even own a boat and certainly not a yacht. My car is old, my house is small, and I am not living beyond my means.

I can’t image how people starting out are making ends meet.

The only thing I see that has changed is that people are more frightened and more frustrated with the direction this country is headed.

Tariffs, inflation, health care costs, housing, etc. Yep, we sure are great now. And I am not even bringing up the unbelievable coverup of the terrible Epstein situation, with no accountability.

But the DOW is at 50,000!

Give me a break. Most people do not own stocks or even understand that the stock market is not the U.S. economy.

When will Americans have enough?
