There are two common outcomes for executive directors: they quit or they are fired.
They usually do not have unlimited-term contracts that include four years of severance if their board fires them. The executive director of the Port of Centralia has such a contract, and it was approved by the incumbent running for re-election as a port commissioner.
This kind of contract, and the governance that approved it, is not in the best interest of the Port. It is time for a new approach, and Ally Pickard offers that new approach.
That is why I am endorsing Ally Pickard for Port of Centralia commissioner. I have found Ally to be a kind, thoughtful and professional person who wants the best for the port and the citizens of Centralia. She has experience in managing budgets and grants, which she will use to show how the Port is a good steward of the citizens’ taxes.
Her dedication and professionalism will ensure that decisions are made with the community's best interests at heart. I have no doubt that she would be an excellent port commissioner. I encourage everybody to vote for Ally Pickard.
