Washington State Standard reporter Jerry Cornfeld’s article on the Democratic Party’s direction quoted Shasti Conrad and Adam Smith for information on what’s wrong and how to fix the party’s influence in national politics.
Unfortunately, they missed the point of the last election completely. The Democrats lost because the American people were tired of being forced into things they didn’t want, including EVs, loss of natural gas, higher taxes and more government spending.
These are the reasons that Harris and the Democrats lost.
The first day in office apparently they’ve forgotten that President Biden signed hundreds of executive orders undoing everything that President Trump had done. The border became a one-way freeway into the country while thousands, and tens of thousands of illegal immigrants came flooding across. And they were being set free to do as they will.
Crime rose dramatically. And inflation soared. Many unconstitutional actions were taken by the government under the guise of “protecting” us. No church services. No school. No work. No public interaction for two years.
Think the voters didn’t notice? Then came the resigning of the climate treaty. No gas cars after 2036, and then 2032 and then who knows?
No more natural gas appliances or hot water. Imagine the future drain on the electric grid that is already nearing collapse in many areas.
And so when we got the chance we kicked out the bums and brought in someone who wants to get us back to where we belong. MAGA isn’t just a slogan or acronym. It’s a goal. We used to be the greatest country on earth until the Democrats took over.
Now we’re nearing third world status in education, manufacturing and production. Of course, as soon as President Trump signed his executive orders, the liberals did what they do best — they ran to the courts to jam them up for the next four years with legal challenges.
Some are good, but most just block progress. Donald Trump is not God. He makes mistakes. But at least he’s trying to make us secure, financially, economically, politically and legally. The voters ignored the last four years of attacks on him by Democratic attorneys general and district attorneys and elected him because they know he wants the best for us.
He’s going to stabilize our borders and economy and our standing in the international community.
As for Washington, the Democrats control our state because the majority of people in the Puget Sound area and Spokane is where the bulk of them live. And big city folks look to the government to solve their problems.
They haven’t learned that the government has never solved any problems, only created new ones with their many rules and regulations.
Until recently, this was a conservative stronghold in a very liberal state. The Democrats have controlled this state for over 40 years and will continue to do so for the next four at least.
Their fear campaign killed those initiatives that would have helped us save some tax dollars. Our state legislators have already begun spending and taxing like they do best.
