Three recent opinion pieces caught my attention, and at opposite ends of the political spectrum.
Columnist John McCroskey spoke of the problem of government costs being out of control. A letter writer complained about rents out of control. And another letter writer attacked President Trump and his agenda.
The media in this country, even after nearly a year since the election, still hold to the left’s outrageous attacks on this country — everything from mandating environmentally unfriendly electric vehicles to attacks on the Second Amendment and the weaponization of our justice system.
The recent emails show attacks on President Trump while hiding and obfuscating the actual criminal activity by President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, President Biden, Vice President Harris and congressmen, along with the Department of Justice, attorney general,
NSA, CIA and the whole alphabet under Obama and Biden. And in our own state, Inslee and Ferguson and their far-left agenda that leaves us with outrageous taxes, rent control that has been proven time and again to actually hurt the poor because of bad conditions and unrepair units — see NYC.
All of this is due to the failed policies of the far left, from Obama to Biden to Inslee to Ferguson and our state Legislature for over 30 years. Many sources placed us as the third most expensive state in the nation for cost of living behind California and Hawaii. And that was before the last tax increases, the most expensive in state history.
How does that place us now?
As for President Trump, all the left can do is whine about the tariffs. Yes, the tariffs will increase costs near-term, but they are already showing economic benefits from new manufacturing coming to the U.S. and new lower tariffs against our goods going overseas, which will lower our costs long-term.
And housing in this state is suffering near-term because of outrageous mortgage rates in the 6-7% range, but President Trump is pressuring the Fed to lower rates, which they are finally doing in spite of the fed chairman, and mortgage rates are starting to come down, already in the 5% range.
And this because President Trump promised to make housing more affordable for the middle class and poor. Keeping another of his many promises already kept. So, I would really appreciate that The Chronicle quit publishing the whining of the liberal readers out there when all they can do is whine about MAGA.
How about focusing on the good that President Trump is doing for this country already by de-weaponizing our justice system and going after the actual criminals in the country, from the illegal aliens to the previous administrations that acted criminally. The proof is there for everybody to see.
I’m still leaving this state for good, as soon as my wife is well. My property taxes nearly doubled last year, and more to come, while the value of my home decreased by at least 15% this year. Just look at Zillow. House prices are plummeting. Pretty soon, everybody will be able to afford a house.
