After four years on your school board, I am so proud of them. I hope you are, too.
We have a great community, and our educational system is a critical part of it. Our kids deserve the best education we can afford. Their futures are our responsibility. A thriving economy is essential to support them.
So, here we are again, asking our taxpayers to continue the current levy. While the state is theoretically committed to financing public education, the funding always falls short. For many in our city, these are difficult financial and economic times.
It seems every family has tough decisions to make. One of the most important is support of our Centralia students. So, I ask you to carefully and responsibly evaluate your challenges and your commitments.
