Letter to the editor: Braun another MAGA lackey with lips firmly affixed to King Donald's backside

Posted

In announcing his candidacy for the Washington Third Congressional District U.S. House seat currently held by Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Republican state Sen. John Braun stated, "I  look forward to working with President Trump on a positive agenda that gets America back on the right track."

Apparently, Sen. Braun has not noticed the brutally anti-Lewis County agenda President Trump has charted in the seven months he has been in office.

Certainly all the billionaires in Lewis County (ha!) are pleased that King Donald has dumped even more of the tax burden on working class America while relieving much of theirs. How flagrant must this be before Sen. Braun acknowledges the fact?

MAGA has cleverly delayed the onset of Medicaid cuts until after the 2026 midterm elections, hoping voters will not notice. When patients without insurance who formerly had Medicaid coverage start showing up at rural hospitals and must be treated, those hospitals will pass along the costs to everyone else, raising medical care costs for us all. Or they will shut their doors.

Medicaid covers 59% of the nursing home patients in Washington. Long-term nursing home care including Alzheimer's care is almost exclusively covered by Medicaid.

Will Braun support King Donald's "positive agenda" to strip research funding of cancer, Alzheimer's and a myriad of vaccines?

King Donald's war against facts and science includes stripping funding from a Harvard University Alzheimer's research program that is the most promising ever for finding a cure. Researchers believe that a sharp reduction of naturally occurring lithium levels in the brain at the onset of memory and cognition loss may well be the Holy Grail of Alzheimer's research. In laboratory studies with mice, adding lithium has not only arrested the decline, it has reversed and restored memory and cognition.

The total cost of long term care for Alzheimer's and other memory loss afflictions is expected to be $781 billion in 2025. It will reach well over $1 trillion by 2030. Not only would a cure for Alzheimer's and memory loss disorders save families enormous heartache, it would save trillions of future long term care costs.

Does Sen. Braun believe a cure for Alzheimer's or various cancers will be found by brilliant researchers in Mossyrock or Packwood?

"Tough on crime" King Donald pardoned treasonous Jan. 6, 2021, rioters who beat the crap out of police officers, causing the death of four Capitol police officers. He has installed several of these pardoned traitors in his administration.

Radical extremist Joe Kent, who also refuses to accept the results of the 2020 election and disputes the characterization of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, is now the King's Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. Sen. Braun has kind words for the radical extremist Kent.

Another MAGA lackey with their lips firmly affixed to King Donald's backside is the last thing the country, the Constitution or the Third District needs.
