Letter to the editor: A question for the Lewis County Republicans chairman

Posted

In his statement of principles that was published in The Chronicle on June 11, Greg Rohr, the chair of the Lewis County Republican Party, wrote  as follows:

“In every healthy community, trust is fragile.  When false reports circulate unchecked, when accusations replace evidence, and when tribal loyalties override facts, relationships fracture and social peace unravels.

“The antidote is a clear principle:  truth must be the highest form of loyalty — higher than allegiance to any person, faction or group.”

Also, “genuine justice depends not on shielding allies or punishing opponents, but on an unwavering commitment to the truth based on the reality presented through evidence.”

Finally, “a community that tolerates falsehoods soon descends into suspicion, division, cynicism and cycles of retaliation.  No bond of family, friendship or politics justifies protecting lies.  Truth must prevail.”

With this in mind, Mr. Rohr, who won the presidential election in 2020?
