Letter: Centralia students will accomplish great things this year

Posted

The new school year begins Tuesday, Sept. 1, and the Centralia School District is excited and ready for it to begin!

We are filled with enthusiasm, hope and optimism about the learning and success coming this school year.

Centralia has a dedicated team that is hard at work preparing for our students. They are committed to our students’ success and hold high expectations for what our students can achieve. We are thankful they choose to work in Centralia and with our students. They are ready for our students to begin.

Our new strategic plan will focus our work this year and through 2031. We have set ambitious but achievable goals that will guide our continued improvement and our students’ success.

The six pillars of focus are academic excellence, belonging, culture, future readiness, family and community partnerships, and safety, security and behavior. These areas will help us continue to build upon the improvements we have made and help our students achieve at high levels.

The full strategic plan is available on our website.

We could not accomplish the work we do without the strong partnership of our community. We are thankful for the support of the levy. Levy funds are enabling us to serve the needs of our students. The funds are supporting the curriculum and our academic goals, safety and security efforts, behavior systems and supports, and the athletic and performing arts programs that strengthen academic outcomes and build belonging and connection.

Your support is making a positive difference for our students, and we are grateful.

The coming school year holds great promise. Our students are capable of extraordinary things, and our staff is dedicated to guiding and supporting them every step of the way. Together, with high expectations, excellent instruction and a supportive community, we are building brighter futures.

I am proud to serve as superintendent of the Centralia School District. Our students are going to accomplish great things in the coming year.
