Fresh off the celebration of Let’s Play Something’s fourth anniversary at its current location in downtown Centralia — and 15th anniversary of being in business — the store’s staff has started a new crowdfunding campaign in order to finance planned expansions.
The expansions include growing the toy store’s inventory, offering more free, hands-on events for local families, launching online shopping with local delivery and increasing opportunities to give back to local schools and community organizations, according to a Centralia Downtown Association news release.
The crowdfunding campaign has a goal of $30,000, and contributors to the campaign get back 120% in store credit for every dollar donated thanks to a partnership with NuMarket and Main Street America.
Let’s Play Something is the first local business to try out a NuMarket campaign, the release added.
NuMarket is an online crowdfunding platform designed specifically for small businesses that allows business owners to secure funding directly from their customers in exchange for store credit.
“Every day, we see how much joy and creativity this store brings to families as they walk in,” Let’s Play Something co-owner Danielle Esquibel stated in the release. “This campaign helps us do even more — more events, more fun and more ways to make a difference in our community.”
Each NuMarket crowdfunding campaign lasts 30 days, and Let’s Play Something’s began on May 2. As of Monday, May 5, $520 had been raised.
