Leslie Fountain Williams Named as New VP of Finance and Administration at Centralia College

Dr. Leslie Fountain Williams, who served most recently as the college president’s chief of staff and board of trustees liaison at Helene Fuld College of Nursing in New York City, was recently named as the Centralia College’s new vice president of finance and administration.

Fountain Williams replaces Steve Ward, who’s retiring on July 15 after 28 years at the college. She starts her new position July 1, according to a news release.

“Leslie brings broad experience from working at several different types of high education institutions, including community colleges, universities and nursing colleges … She has experience with many different departments and activities of the college. This range of experiences makes her a great fit for Centralia College,” Centralia College President Bob Mohrbacher said in a statement.

Fountain Williams served in an identical role at Helene Fuld College of Nursing in New York City, as vice president of finance and administration of the college. She also worked as the director of budgets, grants and contracts at Highline Community College in Des Moines for two years and was the manager of finance at the University of Oregon for five years.

“It is an exciting time to be joining Centralia College and the administrative team, whose good work I look forward to supporting,” Fountain Williams said in a statement. “Getting to know the finance team, students, faculty and staff will help me understand where our opportunities and challenges lie. I am very excited about contributing to the success of Centralia College.”

She holds a doctorate in adult and higher education from Oregon State University, master’s degrees in both higher education and strategic leadership from the University of Rochester and Roberts Wesleyan College, and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY College in Brockport.

In a volunteering capacity, she’s also served as a member of the Western Association of College and University Business Officers board of directors, scholarship reviewer for Maricopa Community College Foundation and as an English as a second language tutor.
