The Onalaska boys and Rainier girls track teams took home C2BL league titles on Friday in Rainier, taking first place at the C2BL Championships.
The Onalaska boys dominated the throwing events, taking the top three spots in the shot put, the top two spots in the discus, and two of the top three spots in the javelin.
Justice Werner, Ethan Thayer, and Morgan Allen finished first, second, and third in the shot put, Thayer and Werner finished first and second in discus, and Justin Jacoby and Lane Gordon finished second and third in javelin, which was won by Rainier’s Zander Peck.
Peck’s best throw of 181 feet, five inches set a new personal best and beat the next-best throw by more than 30 feet.
Brodey Triana and Taden Miller also finished in second and third in the 400 for the Loggers, while Luke Barrick won the pole vault and the 4x100 relay team of Thayer, Triana, Case McGraw, and Werner won their relay race by four-hundreths of a second.
The Rainier girls had success across the board, and there were plenty of Mountaineers at the front of the pack in the distance races.
Madison Ingram and Rayanna Wisner finished first and second in the 800, Komaire Robles and Kinsley Barlow finished first and second in the 3,200, and Ingram, Robles, and Alexis Myers placed first through third in the 1,600.
Those three all finished within four-tenths of a second of each other, with Ingram posting a 6:06.39, Robles clocking a 6:06.58, and Myers posting 6:06.78.
Acacia Murphy finished second in the 100, and Jazzlyn Shumate placed second in the 200. Winlock’s Victoria Sancho won both events, and she set a new PR by clocking a 12.55 in the 100. Sancho also won the triple jump.
Rainier’s Janess Blackburn won the discus, Murphy won the high jump, and Ella Marvin won the pole vault.
Among the other event winners on the boys side, Adna’s Kolton Moon won both hurdles races, Toledo’s Treyton Marty won the 1,600 and the 3,200.
The 2B District 4 Championships are set for Thursday at W.F. West.

Tenino boys finish second at Evergreen Championships
The Tenino boys track team took second at the 1A Evergreen League Championships in Montesano on Friday, scoring 127 points as a team.
Two Beavers won races, as Tristan Von Bargen won the 400 and Carson Schall won the 110 hurdles.
Tucker Matheson won the high jump and Ashton Moore won the long jump to give Tenino two wins in the field events, and five other Beavers finished as the runner-up in their respective events.
On the girls side, Kendall Bowe was Tenino’s highest placer. She set a new personal record and finished second in the javelin.
The Rochester boys and girls both finished fourth in the team standings.
Gunnar Morgan won both the 800 and 1,600, while Le’Shawn Hines won the triple jump and also finished second in the high jump and in the top four in the long jump.
On the girls side, Merecedies Dupont won the 200, Kailyn Black won the 100 hurdles and finished second in the 300 hurdles, and Brooklyn Alfonso won the javelin.
The 4x100 relay team of Jordyn Johnson, Dupont, Kenna Pratt, and Black won, and the same quartet won the 4x200.
The 1A District 4 Championships are set for Thursday at Seton Catholic.

Tumwater sweeps EvCo Championships
The Tumwater boys and girls track teams were both victorious at the 2A EvCo Championships in Centralia, winning the boys title by 78 points and the girls by 88.
Among the winners on the boys side were Blake Kirkpatrick, who won the 100 and 200, Landon Anderson, who won the 1,600, and Reid Crumley, who won the 300 hurdles.
Malijah Tucker won the discus, Beckett Wall won the javelin, and Aaron Paul won the high jump.
On the girls side, Ashlyn Hufana won the 100, Ava Jones won the 200, Reese Heryford won the 400, and Alexandra Broome won the 800.
Abigail Krause won the shot put, Paige Henderson won the discus, and Amahle Foster won the long jump.
The T-Birds girls also swept the relays. Cassidy Hedin, Hufana, Heryford, and Jones won the 100 and 200, while Hedin, Jones, Heryford, and Broome won the 400.
Among the other area event winners on the boys side were Maddox Sampson (110 hurdles) and Ryan Hilliker (pole vault), both from W.F. West.
W.F. West’s Amanda Bennett won the pole vault and javelin on the girls side, while Centralia’s Desiray Crockett won the 100 hurdles.
The 2A District 4 Championships are set for Thursday at Columbia River.
