Late Runs Sink Wolves Against Bobcats

In a pitcher’s duel for most of the contest, the Black Hills softball team let up too many runs late, and couldn’t get enough back across in a 6-3 loss to Aberdeen on the road Wednesday afternoon.

The Wolves and Bobcats were held scoreless through four innings before the Bobcats poured in five runs in the fifth, and another in the sixth. The Wolves responded with a trio of runs in the top of the seventh, but it wouldn’t be enough in the league loss.

Zoey Theophilus threw a complete game for Black Hills, with just four of the runs earned on six hits and four walks with seven strikeouts. Theophilus also knocked in a run and Ella Goheen went 1 for 4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

The Wolves take on 3A Capital on the road Thursday at 4 p.m.
