State troopers pursued a vehicle traveling over two times the speed limit on southbound Interstate 5 Friday night, Trooper Kameron Watts shared on X.

The BMW was first observed by a King County trooper using multiple lanes of travel along southbound I-5 in Federal Way, the post said.

When the driver reached the Pierce County line, troopers observed the car traveling 130 miles per hour.

Traffic was light enough for a safe pursuit, so Pierce County troopers intervened and followed the vehicle all the way through Lakewood, the post said.

Troopers were able to stop the vehicle after it attempted to turn around near JBLM. Two people are in custody.
