A juvenile male was struck and killed by a vehicle while skateboarding in Centralia on Friday night, according to the Centralia Police Department.
The boy’s age and identity were not released.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian at about 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia.
“Witnesses on the scene reported a juvenile male was on his skateboard in the roadway when a vehicle collided with him,” the department stated in a news release. “When officers arrived, the juvenile was unresponsive. Riverside Fire Authority and AMR responded to the scene and began life-saving measures. The juvenile was transported to Providence Hospital where a life flight was waiting. The juvenile was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.”
The Washington State Patrol responded to assist Centralia police with the investigation.
