Emalie Jacoby and Braelyn Babb both broke their own school records on Tuesday, leading the Loggers to a 27-25, 20-25, 27-25, 23-25, 15-8 victory over Rainier.
Jacoby finished with 35 kills, and Babb dished out 46 assists to lead the Loggers to the win.
In addition to her kills, Jacoby also logged 35 digs, and in addition to her assists, Babb added a pair of blocks and a pair of aces.
Sommer Hammer collected 15 kills, 10 assists, and three blocks, and Ellie Jacoby added 22 digs and “pulled through” on serve receive throughout the night.
Karsyn Koenig had a strong night at the net, posting nine blocks, Faith Hammer had four blocks of her own, and Capri McGraw delivered a pair of aces from the service line.
“This was a great match early in the season,” Onalaska coach Susan Gordon said. “The competition was great and both sides battled hard. It was a fun one … We came out very focused in the fifth set and did not have a down moment like we did in some of the other sets. We have to get more consistent overall, but it’s early and we still have a lot of room for growth.”
Allyson Ooms led Rainier with 30 digs, 27 kills, and five aces, while Ellie Pringle added 18 digs digs, 14 kills, and four aces. Lexi Beckman added eight kills, two blocks, and an ace.
Reagan Bloom had seven kills, Jessica Adamski tallied 32 digs and an ace, and Courtney Eckroth dished out 48 assists while also collecting five kills and two aces.
Onalaska (4-0) will look to extend its winning streak to five on Thursday, when it hosts Forks, while Rainier (2-1) will look to bounce back at home against Black Hills on the same evening.
