In loving memory of Kelly Schoonover: 1968-2024

Posted

Lynn Schoonover, 55, fell asleep in death suddenly on Jan. 1, 2024, at his home. He was born Aug. 1, 1968, to his parents, Albert and Rita Schoonover, in Omak, Washington.

Kelly attended school in Omak and graduated high school in 1986. He married the love of his life, Misty Jennings, July 30, 1988.

In the early part of their marriage, Kelly worked in the woods in the logging industry. Then, in 1995, Kelly went to work as a diesel mechanic for NC Machinery. In 2000, Kelly and Misty moved to Centralia, Washington, where he continued as a diesel mechanic.

Kelly loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed tinkering around his home and having the latest gadgets.

His wife Misty persuaded Kelly to travel to different parts of the world, including Australia, parts of Europe, Ireland and Mexico.

Kelly loved barbecuing on the weekends, getting up early and texting family and friends what was going on the smoker for that day.

Kelly was a very generous, loving husband, uncle and friend with a big heart and a great sense of humor.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Misty Schoonover; parents, Albert and Rita Schoonover; brothers, Lonnie (Janice) Schoonover and Aaron Schoonover; sisters, Kim (Bill) Freel and Amy (Eric) Gonzales, all from Okanogan County; and multiple nieces and nephews.
