In loving memory of Jeanne Hamilton: 1950-2023

Jeanne Eastwood Hamilton, age 73, died at her home in Winlock, Washington on Sept. 17, 2023. 

Born in Burbank, California, she was the daughter of Hubert and Maxine Eastwood. She was raised in California, graduating from Escondido High School and then San Diego State University before moving to Reno, Nevada where she met her husband, Fred Hamilton. They married on Jan. 22, 1983, and later went on to have two children, Sean and Erin. In November 1994 they moved to Winlock where they built a small farm and cared for many animals over the years. 

While working and raising a family, Jeanne received a bachelor’s degree in education from Saint Martin’s University and later, at age 60, went on to earn a master’s degree in education from Grand Canyon University. She was a teacher at Toledo School District for 15 years before retiring. 

Jeanne was an active member of ARTrails, Washington Acoustic Music Association (WAMA), a yearly participant at the Creative Arts Community Workshop at Menucha, and a teacher at the Children’s Theater Workshop at the Morgan Arts Centre every summer. She was an avid artist, enjoyed playing the mandolin, traveling, gardening, and spending time with loved ones and cherished pets. 

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 40 years, Fred Hamilton; her son, Sean Hamilton; her daughter, Erin Hamilton; her sister, Linda Eitel; and her brothers, Michael Eastwood and Robert Eastwood. 

A celebration of life, open to all who knew her, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at Morgan Arts Centre 190 Plomondon Road, Toledo, WA 98591. Bring fond memories to share and wear colorful clothing to celebrate the full life of a wonderful person.
