Wallace “Wally” Edward Lawson, 73, of Centralia, Washington, passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2025, with his wife and daughter at his side after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born in Minnesota to Dorothy and Glenn Lawson, Wally was the second of 10 siblings. After moving to Washington, he built a 38-year career as an electric motor specialist and shop manager at L&L Machinery, where his dedication and friendships made his work a lifelong passion.
In 1986, Wally married his soulmate, Renée. Together they shared nearly four decades of love, laughter and partnership. His greatest joy was his family, especially his children, Joshua (Theresa) and Tabitha (Kyle), and grandchildren Jordan (Jade), Logan and Alizandra. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather and a deeply loved “Uncle Wally” to many nieces and nephews.
Wally was also a fixture in the Centralia community—coaching youth softball, keeping score at high school games and cheering on local athletes. A devoted Seahawks and Vikings fan, he also loved tinkering in his shop and restoring his 1951 Chevy panel truck.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Allen. He is survived by his wife, Renée; his children and grandchildren; siblings; extended family; and many friends who will miss his humor, kindness and generosity.
