In loving memory of Theodore (Ted) Sliva: 1936-2026

Posted
Ted Sliva, 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Menlo, Washington, on Feb. 24, 2026. Ted was born June 7, 1936, in Pe Ell, Washington, to John and Lottie Sliva. He was the youngest of five kids and happily married to Bonnie Sliva until the time of her passing.

Ted was the father of four children, Dennis Sliva, Tammie Smith, Wanda Stockwell and Tracy Rask; grandfather of eight; great-grandfather of 10; and great-great-grandfather of two.

Other than the Lord and his family, Dad had three passions: forestry, fishing and carpentry. For his career, he worked as a forester, hiking up and down hills, managing timber before there were “pecker poles” (those were his words). Over the years, he learned how much he enjoyed building with the timber he managed.

Ted spent a good amount of his time after work building his house and helping his kids build theirs. When he had time for himself, Dad spent it on the Willapa River, reeling in that 20-pound steelhead.

Thank you for the years you gave us.

You will be missed.

We love you.
