In Loving Memory of Shirley Kelley: 1934-2022

Posted

Sadly, on June 12, 2022, Shirley Ann (Carter) Kelley passed away at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Born April 6, 1935, in Morton, Washington, Shirley lived in many states but finally came home to stay at the family house in Mossyrock in 1982. You may recognize her photo from her years of service at Smith and Sons Grocery in Mossyrock.

Shirley was well known and loved by many and enjoyed her time with family and friends. She was one of the best storytellers of all time and always had a joke or story to make you laugh.

Shirley loved bingo and was known at all bingo halls near and far. She enjoyed her weekly card games with her friends, enjoying a good potluck on Fridays. She also was an avid reader.

Shirley is survived by niece Diana (Myers) Murdoch of Ocean Park, niece Leslie (Darrin) Myers of Chehalis, great nephew Jason Buchanon of Mossyrock, great niece Karleigh (Roberts) Ortiz of Centralia and best friends (and neighbors) Darin and Caryn Johnson of Mossyrock.

Shirley made the world a better place and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life has been planned for July 23, 2022, at the Mossyrock Community Center between noon and 3 p.m. Because Shirley loved a good potluck, please bring your favorite dish and let’s reminisce about all the joy she brought to our lives.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
