Sherry Lynn (Macomber) McCalden, 74, of Doty, Washington, passed away on Oct. 29, 2025, at the Richard Nau Hospice House in Longview, Washington.
Sherry was born June 21, 1951, in Chehalis, Washington, the daughter of Donald Macomber and Norma Jean (Purcell) Macomber.
Sherry graduated from Pe Ell High School in 1970, then married her high school sweetheart, Dale “Mac” McCalden, in August of the same year. Sherry and Mac were married for 54 years and enjoyed spending time together gardening, fishing, hunting and working in their wood shop.
Sherry was a talented artist who worked in oil, acrylic and watercolor to create beautiful landscapes and still life paintings. She also worked with Mac to design and build custom furniture pieces. Sherry loved gardening and was especially proud of her roses and hydrangeas. She was a member of the Doty Assembly of God Church, then New Harvest Assembly of God in Pe Ell.
Sherry was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mac; her brother, Kenny Macomber; and sister, Laura Macomber. She is survived by her children, Bobby McCalden (Julie) and Julie Mills (Charles); five grandchildren, Kaleb and Joseph McCalden and Eva, Ian, and Lucy Mills; and siblings Steve Macomber (Sue), Pete Macomber (Judy) and Andy Macomber.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at New Harvest Assembly of God, 134 Mauerman Road, Pe Ell, Washington.
