It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ross Carl Cothren Sr., who departed this life peacefully on June 22, 2026, at the age of 95. Ross was born Nov. 4, 1930, in Waldenburg, Arkansas, to Cord and Arvie Cothren.
Ross was preceded in death by Evelyn Irene (Kaija), his devoted and loving wife of 64 years.
Ross was a dedicated father to his children, Ross Jr. (Glenda), Audie, Travis (Mia), Dale (Kristin) and Frances (Don Hunter). He leaves a legacy of 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ross was an avid outdoorsman, accomplished in hunting and fishing. He cared for his family by the sweat of his brow as a railroad man and logger, building a reputation as a legendary yarder operator.
Ross’s dedication, drive, work ethic and ingenuity were a great example to all. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 10, at 1 p.m. at Winlock Cemetery.
