Paul W. Swensson, 78, passed away on Nov. 17, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Paul was born in Juneau, Alaska. Raised on Mercer Island and in Bremerton, he spent most of his life crossing the waters of Puget Sound and Lake Washington. He was a proud Seattlite and a resident of Ballard for 27 years.

He graduated from the University of Washington School of Business and worked for 33 years at the Bellevue Post Office, where he was active in the union. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Olympia and planted the sixth chestnut orchard in Washington.

Paul had a well-known passion for classic cars. He was also a lifelong fan of science fiction, amassing a remarkable collection of books and magazines.

Paul is survived by his wife, Marina Ferguson; daughter, Antoinette Hippe (Dan); and brother, Peter Swensson (Sandra). He is preceded in death by his brothers, Allen and Eric; mother, Anne; and father, Paul William.

A private family graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Museum of Pop Culture in Paul's honor. He was a charter member of the Museum of Science Fiction. As we say goodbye to Paul, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives with his quick wit and gentle soul.
