In loving memory of Neva C. Thomas (Alton) Ormiston: 1937-2026

Posted
Born Dec. 17, 1937, in Longview, Washington, to Woody and Virginia Thomas, Neva peacefully passed away on July 11, 2026, in Olympia, Washington.

A lifelong lover of animals, Neva especially enjoyed participating in horse-related 4-H events as a schoolgirl in Castle Rock, Washington. Neva had a big heart and was the second mom to many of her son's friends. After spending some years in Alaska, Neva returned to Lewis County, working for banks and debt collection agencies, getting in on the first wave of office computer use.

Later in life, Neva married the love of her life, Ron Ormiston, sharing happy years with him until Ron's passing.

Always working on some kind of artistic endeavor, Neva generously gifted scores of crocheted Afghan blankets, many of her own design, to family, friends and to her church, in which she was very active. Neva's love of life, family and God gave her strength and joy. She is survived by her son, Eric Alton, and nephew Jason Thomas.

Neva's beloved poodle, Rosie, passed away on Sept. 28, 2026.
