Posted

Nancy Rita Cotla, born in Mosta, Malta, came to the U.S. at the age of 2, with her family settling in San Francisco, California. She grew up in San Francisco most of her life in a family of 10 kids. Worked at Southern Pacific in San Francisco as an engineer's apprentice in 1974. She married her husband, Daniel Cotla, on June 23, 1975, and dedicated her time to being a stay-at-home mom. She worked in the school district as a paraeducator in the mid- 1980s. In 1993 she moved from California to Washington, living in Sumner, and then in 2007 retired and settled in Centralia. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Daniel Cotla, 73; children Mark Hazelwood (Susan), Joyce Skillman (Damon), Teresa Blais (Joel), and Marlene Cotla; along with seven grandchildren to whom she dedicated her time. She loved cooking, hosting and being a hospitable person as much as sharing her faith in Jesus to her community. She will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched and everyone who she made sure was always well fed with her spectacular meals. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. at Mountainview Baptist Church on Monday, Jan. 22.
