In loving memory of Marilee Wilber: 1950-2026

Posted

Marilee A. Wilber, 76, of Edgerton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026. She was born in Danville, Illinois, on May 20, 1950, the daughter of the late Gene and Paulette (Hadley) Ingles.

Her family moved to Washington state, where she grew up, and in 1968 graduated from Winlock High School and received further training as a medical assistant and a medical transcriptionist. Marilee’s work career started while she was raising her girls, always in various areas of the medical field, and she finally retired at 70 years of age.

Marilee enjoyed family and watching her granddaughter grow up, and later in Wisconsin, her grandsons. Her favorite thing to talk about was hearing from or being with her great-grandchildren. She was a crafter and an excellent gardener and loved designing her landscapes and caring for her plants. She enjoyed watching the DIY programs on TV, always wondering how she could transform her home. Paramount to everything in her life was her deep faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa (Lex) Nieland, of Hayward, California, and Jennifer (Chad) Heisz, of Janesville; four grandchildren, Brittany Baskett, Jayse Cody, Justin (Marissa) Cody and Tristan Cody; two stepgrandchildren, Brandon (Kailey) Heisz and Brooke Heisz; four great-grandchildren, Amaya McFelt, Aurora Cody, Gene Cody and Noah Cody; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Beau Heisz; two siblings, Gary (Christine) Ingles, of Toledo, Washington, and Donna (Daniel) Buschmann, of Edgerton; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, at Fulton Church, Edgerton, Wisconsin. Burial will be in Fulton Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Apfel Ehlert Funeral Home is assisting the family.
