Maria was born in Switzerland, the second oldest of eight children: Creszenzia, Albert, Clara, Rosa, Walter, Heidi and Hans.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Karl, and grandson, David. She is survived by her daughter, Esther, and grandson, Robert.
Throughout her life, Maria was committed to practicing gratitude and appreciation for others. To continue, her family wishes to express gratitude, on her and our behalf, for our helpers — Maria’s P.E.O. Chapter AV sisters. These ladies were truly sisters to her. They were a blessing to Maria, and she to them, in her life. They are a blessing to her family during this time of her passing.
The staff at Chehalis West, where Maria lived the last five years of her life — she appreciated the excellent care and friendship of the staff and the friendships with her neighbors. It is a very loving community. She continued to receive compassionate care from the Chehalis West staff and Assured Hospice nurses at her apartment until the end of her days.
Maria and family always appreciated her good friend and longtime neighbor, Sue. We are very grateful to Sue for providing transportation for medical and dental appointments and just being a wonderful friend.
