LuElla Rarey, 83, of Winlock, Washington, passed away June 20, 2026, at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.
She was born April 26, 1943, to Richard and Elva Atwood. She graduated from Toledo High School in 1961 and married Ed Rarey on July 12, 1963.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ed Rarey; son, Tony Rarey; daughter, Brenda Rarey French (Rich); grandsons, Nic Andersen (Aleigha) and Dylan French (Julia); and great-grandchildren, Emmah, Jensen and Colson.
She spent the majority of her career at Winlock High School, working between the snack bar and the office, where we are sure she found her tenacity. She loved camping, boating, crafting and spending time with her family. Although she faced significant health challenges later in life, she met them with remarkable strength, courage and grace, rarely complaining and always persevering.
Though we will miss her deeply, we are grateful for the many memories she leaves behind and the love she shared throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and in the family she cherished.
Forever loved, forever remembered and forever in our hearts.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Winlock Cemetery, with a celebration of life to follow at the Winlock Senior Center.
