In loving memory of Larry Groves: 1948-2025

Posted

Larry was born in Chehalis, Washington, on Aug. 9, 1948, to parents John and Gloria (Smith) Groves.

He spent most of his life in the Chehalis area. He married twice and had five children.

Larry spent most of his life driving truck, mostly hauling logs. He was an avid storyteller and entertained friends and family with his vivid stories. Larry loved horses and mules and enjoyed trail riding with friends and family. He also loved Harley motorcycles and went on several road trips through the years.

Larry will be sorely missed by all; he was a great part of many lives.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Myrna and Judy; and grandson, Andy. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Neva; daughters, Josie and Rae; sons, Eugene, Jeffrey and Jacob; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; longtime companion, Debbie; and his dog, Stormy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a celebration of life for Larry on July 12 at 1 p.m. at the Napavine Masonic/Rebekah Lodge.
