Juelene “Julie” (Hoxit) Hansen passed away peacefully at her home in Chehalis, Washington, on July 21, 2026. She was born June 16, 1937, in Brevard, North Carolina.
She married Richard “Dick” Hansen on Feb. 9, 1957. They were married for more than 69 years. They met while attending school in Napavine in 1952. Julie was a song queen for Dick’s basketball team. Dick was drafted into the Army one month after they were married. Julie worked as an LPN for both Centralia General Hospital and St. Helen’s Hospital. In 1988, she started working at National Frozen Foods until retirement. Dick was a lifelong mechanic, working at the Exxon Station in Chehalis and later Daytona West until retirement. They have lived in the Napavine area for 55 years.
Julie is survived by her husband, Dick; five children, Rick Hansen of Centralia, Kim Beesley of Centralia, Janine (Rob) Hansen-Kleemeyer of Chehalis, Mike Hansen of Centralia and Chris (Tracy) Hansen of Chehalis; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters, Audrey Cothren of Centralia and Linda Dodgens of Woodville, California.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, James Beesley; granddaughter, Talia Hansen; brothers, James Hoxit, Lavonne Hoxit, Godoy Hoxit and Eric Hoxit; and sister, Jeanne Spain.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Napavine Assembly of God, with a social to follow.
