Jude Guyer, 77, of Chehalis, Washington, went home to be with Jesus on Sept. 3, 2025, after courageously fighting a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on Oct. 31, 1947, in Walla Walla, Washington, to Robert and Ruby Muzzy, and grew up with her siblings Syd, Bob and Donna. She graduated from Shadle Park High School in Spokane in 1966 and began her career as a bank teller, where she developed her strong work ethic and people skills.
In 1968, Jude met the love of her life, Tom Guyer, and they were married on Oct. 11, 1969, in Port Angeles, Washington, and would have been celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary. Together they raised three children: Kim, Jon, and Randy. Jude later worked alongside Tom in their family business, TJ Guyer Inc., and also gave of her time mentoring students through FBLA, encouraging them to achieve their goals.
Jude had a spirit of joy and adventure. She loved boating on Puget Sound, always hoping to catch sight of a whale. She delighted in walking, especially during her many trips through the San Juan Islands, and shared her creativity through crafts she made and gave as gifts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Muzzy; stepmother, Marie Muzzy; brother, Bob Muzzy; and sister, Donna Glanville. She is survived by her husband, Tom; brother, Syd (Karen); children, Kim Witham (Mark), Jon Guyer, and Randy Guyer (Andrea); grandchildren, Emilee Macomber (Seth), Ryan Witham, Jon Paul Guyer (Katie), Macie Magnuson (Wyatt), Taylor Kamenzind (Cory), and Caden Guyer; and great-grandchildren, Mallory Guyer, Maeve Magnuson, Raelynn Preston-Oliver, and Brooklyn Kamenzind.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to South Sound Family Adult Home, Al, and Thelma for their loving care.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Grace Church in Chehalis, Washington, with a light reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jude Guyer Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Chehalis Foundation, P.O. Box 1608, Chehalis, WA 98532, or go to chehalisfoundation.org (click on “donate now”) to continue her legacy of encouraging young people to reach their potential.
Jude will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family.
