Joann Hedgers (Pluard), age 88, passed away peacefully in her home as she slept on Monday, July 18, 2022. A memorial in her honor will be held on Aug. 13, 2022, at 1 p.m. in the Toledo High School gymnasium.
Mrs. Hedgers was born on Nov. 1, 1934, in Centralia, Washington, to Beatrice Pluard. She was raised in the Bucoda area and that is where she met her husband of 71 years, William Hedgers. Joann and William settled in Toledo in 1961, where they raised their three sons and were lifelong supporters of Toledo’s sports and band programs.
Joann is preceded in death by her sons Steven and Bill Hedgers, and her grandson Christopher Hedgers. She is survived by her husband William; her son Bradly Hedgers (wife Marcia Hedgers), of Centralia; and her grandchildren Angela (Iverson), of Olympia, Scott Hedgers, of Portland, Travis Hedgers, of Centralia, Jared Hedgers, of Rochester, Rianne Perry, of Olympia, Lindsey (Robles), of Centralia, Laura Nielsen, of Chehalis, and Kellie Hedgers of Louisiana; along with 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
