Jim Raymond Forga, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at his home in Toledo, Washington.
Jim was born on July 6, 1949, in Waynesville, North Carolina. In the 1960s, Jim’s family moved from North Carolina to Washington, where he resided for the remainder of his life. Jim was a logger for most of his working years. He was also an avid sportsman. He enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with close friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lyda Forga; his father, Robert Long; and his stepfather, Kenneth Forga Sr.
Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years, Glenda Forga. He also leaves daughters DeAnn Beck (Monty Smith) and Mandie Flora-Gibson (Dan Gibson); a son, Dan Whisler; grandchildren, Sophia Johnigk, Adeline Flora, Fiona and Vaughn Gibson, and Jaxson and Ellie Whisler; sisters, Barb Bange and Ellen Forga; and a brother, Kenneth Forga Jr.
A graveside burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at Toledo Cemetery, located next to Fir Lawn Funeral Chapel in Toledo. Following the burial, a celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Toledo, including a dessert potluck (main food will be provided)
