Jeffery Scott Runyon passed away on Sept. 13, 2026, at the age of 57.
Jeff was born on Jan. 3, 1969, to Eva L. Runyon and Clarence Runyon. He grew up in the Chehalis area and graduated from W.F. West High School.
Jeff loved the outdoors and was happiest fishing, hunting, riding through the mountains in his side-by-side, or camping along the river. He loved gathering with friends, sitting around a campfire, sharing stories, laughing and enjoying the simple things in life. His dog was also a very special part of his life and was rarely far from his side.
Jeff had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was the kind of person you could count on if you needed something. Jeff was always there and willing to help. His friendships meant a great deal to him, especially the lifelong friendship he shared with his best friend, Scott. The two shared many years of friendship, adventures, stories and memories.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Eva L. Runyon and Clarence Runyon; his sisters, Denise Shipley and RaeAnn Spurlin; his daughter, Rebecca; and his granddaughter, Layla.
Jeff will be remembered for his humor, his generous heart, his love of the outdoors and, most of all, for the time he spent with the people he cared about. There will always be stories to tell, laughs to remember and memories of days spent on the river, in the mountains and around a campfire.
He will be deeply missed by his family, his lifelong best friend, Scott, his many friends and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
A celebration of life for Jeff will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Forest Grange, 3397 Jackson Highway, Chehalis.
The gathering will be a potluck, and family and friends are invited to come together to share food, stories, laughter and memories as we celebrate Jeff’s life.
