In Loving Memory Of Jason Medina  1969 ~ 2024

Jason C. Medina, 54, a Chehalis Tribal member and Thurston County resident passed away on Jan. 15, 2024 at Saint Peters Hospital surrounded by his family. 

Jason was born on Sept. 18, 1969 in Oxnard, California, to the parents of Michael Medina and Rita. Jason attended school in Port Hueneme, California. In 1991 he graduated from Wyoming Technical Institute for Automotive in Laramie, Wyoming. Jason worked for many years as an automotive technician. In 2001 Jason became an automotive teacher. He taught both in public and Native American schools in Washington and Montana. He retired from teaching in January 2023. He loved sharing his knowledge with enthusiastic minds. He helped several young students into secondary education in the automotive field. 

Jason will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Cindy Medina, his daughters Desirei Medina, Corrie (Zack) Demers, Trisha Medina (KamRon Capo) all of Rochester, Washington. Kammie Medina of Arlington, Washington. His six grandchildren Ayden Medina, Adabelle Medina, Nayeli Medina Darnell, Amiah Medina Leslie, Hudson Capo and Hendrix Capo. He will also be remembered by his mother Rita of Mesquite, Nevada and his brother, Adam (Shelley) Medina of Saratoga Springs, Utah. He will be carried in the hearts of his aunt Nancy and uncle Ray Romero, his uncle Tony, and aunt Joleen Medina, his aunt Gloria Jones, and his uncle Art Medina and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Jason is preceded in death by his father, Michael Medina, his grandparents, Manuel L and Alice Secena Medina, Ovid and Madora Coté as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Service for Jason is Wednesday, Jan. 24 at Newell- Hoerlings Mortuary, 205 W. Pine St., Centralia, WA. Service will start at 10 o’clock. We will have Jason’s final ride after the service around Tomahawk Stadium. Following that we will meet at the Secena Cemetery to lay Jason to rest. Then dinner after at the Chehalis Tribal Community Center.
