Janice Marie Bowers passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at home with family and friends due to pancreatic cancer. Janice was born on March 28, 1962, in Juneau, Alaska, to the late Richard and Kareen Kapus.
After graduating from high school, Janice moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, where her mother resided and went to work for a local glass company. Janice later moved to Chehalis, Washington, working multiple jobs over the years, including bartending at Kit Carson and working for Nadyne Tauscher and Vancouver Bolt, where she met the love of her life, Tim Bowers, who she married on Nov. 13, 2004. After her marriage, Janice worked for Tim Bowers Logging and then went to work for Walmart in 2019 until her death. Janice loved to work outside in her yard and to spend time with her pets.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Sherry Jones and Verna Donovan. She is survived by her husband, Tim Bowers; her sister; Gerry Thuney; her brother, Mike Kapus; and her niece, Jeannie Kay (Christopher) Moss.
Janice leaves behind a large group of friends and family who will feel her absence for a lifetime. In remembrance of Janice, she requests that you treat your three- and four-legged friends extra special on her birthday.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
