In loving memory of Irma Rae Hiles: 1939-2023

Irma Rae Hiles, 84, of Randle, Washington, passed away on July 17 at the Heritage House in Morton, Washington. She was born to Ray and Marie Ott in Caldwell, Idaho on Jan. 1, 1939. She graduated from Caldwell High School in 1957. On Oct. 11, 1957, she married Charles Baker, and they had four children. They divorced but stayed good friends to the end. On Nov. 24, 1979, she married Phil Hiles. They were together for 21 years when he passed. During that time she was very active in the Amvets, garden clubs and other local clubs. Phil and Irma grew a large garden and canned a lot of food together. She started a sewing business in 2005 called “A Stitch in Time.” She was quite the seamstress until dementia took over. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phil Hiles; her son Chuck Baker; her sister Dorene Tobin; and granddaughter Becky Baker. She is survived by her sons Tom Baker in Alabama and Mike Baker in North Carolina; and daughter Toni Lowe in Randle, Washington. She had 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
